School Development Plan Priorities
1. Quality of Education
- Embed new English long-term plan and teaching of Reading & Writing to improve outcomes for all pupils
- Review and revise the Maths Curriculum to rapidly improve outcomes for all pupils
- Introduce a new Computing and On-Line Safety Curriculum
- Introduce a new curriculum for French
- Introduce the new RE Agreed Syllabus across the school
- Improve consistency of assessment for foundation subjects ensuring progress for all pupils
- Continue to develop pupils love of reading through daily reading time and use of library
- Identify and fund key External Education visits and visitors to enhance the curriculum
- Identify and incorporate into the PSHCE curriculum opportunities for to promote and support positive mental health and resilience
- Embed and expand appropriate interventions across the school to support progress, keep up and catch up
- Continue to support all pupils in order to close the gap between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged pupils in all year groups, in R, W & M, particularly boys
- To further develop appropriate use of the Outdoor Environment for learning across all year groups
- Revise, resource and effectively implement the PE curriculum to support skills progression and the range of competitive opportunities for all pupils
- To gather pupil voice about RE and Foundation subjects in order to further develop more engaging and effective teaching and learning leading to higher outcomes for pupils
2. Leadership & Management
- Continue to develop Leadership roles through focussed CPD and dedicated release time
- Ensure budget is able to maintain and enhance current staffing structure, with additional funding streams explored.
- Support staff in meeting the needs, more effectively, of the wider group of SEND pupils now attending the school through a programme of effective CPD and use of in class support/resources
- Improve outcomes for all pupils through further developing understanding and delivery of Quality First Teaching in the classroom
- Continue to explore ways to ensure all staff have a good work-life balance through identifying and adopting working SMART and developing positive WELL-BEING practices
3. Other Areas
- Improve the environment for learning in both the classroom and outdoors
- Increase opportunities for developing high quality parental engagement
- Continue to identify the barriers to learning and meet the needs of our most impoverished pupils
- Improve attendance of all pupils, especially those identified as Persistent Absentees in 2021-22
Priorities for Whole School Development in 2022-23: The above areas have been identified from: the analysis of end of year data; monitoring throughout 2021-22; areas from SDP 2021-22 which require further consolidation or embedding; as well as pupil voice surveys; a parent survey and comments across the year; comments from both a staff well-being survey and SWOT analysis undertaken at the end of academic year 2021-22.
